Academy seek new manager

After serious consideration, Wick Academy FC have reached the very difficult decision not to continue with Alistair Budge as Manager of the senior team with immediate effect.

During his three years and three months with the Club, Alistair took charge of 110 matches, 92 of these were League games. His league record of 58 defeats, 22 wins and 12 draws in that time has not, in the opinion of the Committee, demonstrated sufficient improvement over previous seasons to continue in the current vein.

League points and positions over the past three full seasons have seen Wick Academy remain above the bottom 3 positions, however, the points gap between Wick Academy FC and the next League position has steadily increased, so no clear improvement in performance has been demonstrated which has led to the Committee reaching their decision.

Alistair agreed a clear set of objectives for the season, which although he has not failed to meet them, the direction and development of the Club failed to meet the expectations of the Committee and everyone associated with the Club.

Wick Academy FC would like to thank Alistair Budge for the tireless amount of hours he dedicated to the Club during his time as Manager, and would like to wish him and his family every success for the future.
