In Memory of Scott MacKenzie
Wick Academy F.C. are shocked and deeply saddened by the death of 17 year old Scott Mackenzie who died as a result of a road accident in Caithness last Saturday night. Academy send their deepest condolences to Scott's parents.
Commenting on behalf of the club, secretary Alan Farquhar said, "Everyone at Wick Academy F.C. are devastated by the news that Scott has lost his life in such a tragic way. Scott was a very talented young midfield player and a very influential figure in our U17 Youth Team.
He had everything to play for having made a few 1st team squad appearances and was destined for further progression until a knee injury temporarily halted his progress. Scott remained positive during his injury and was looking forward to the day he returned to playing for WAFC.
He was a positive young man who played football with a smile on his face and was a very popular character on and off the pitch. Everyone associated with Wick Academy F.C. will miss him greatly, our thoughts are with his family at this sad time".
A minutes silence will take place before Saturday's game against Cove Rangers as a mark of respect for Scott.
