Under-15s get off to a winning start

Academy's under-15 side select got their Highland Youth League campaign off to a successful start with a 4-1 victory away to Alness.

The visitors, featuring players from Caithness United, made an early breakthrough when Polish youngster Kuba Kozoil finished off a slick passing sequence.

Before the end of the first of the three 30-minute periods, they had added to their lead with a shot from the edge of the box by Mark Coghill.

The Academy lads missed several decent opportunities before Kuba scored again in the second period. Andrew Adamson made it 4-0 with a powerful strike before the hosts got a goal back near the end.

Coach John Suttar said: "It was a pretty good team display. There was some good interplay and movement and it was a decent performance for our first outing.

"With a bit more composure up front, we could have had a few more goals."
