Can-Cans back on top after Strathspey romp
Forres Mechanics reclaimed top spot in the Highland League after easing to a 7-1 victory over Strathspey Thistle at Seafield Park on Wednesday night.
Steven Ross hit a hat-trick for the Can-Cans, whose other goals came from Matty Davidson, Fraser Bremner, Willie Barron and Gordon MacNab. Gavin Smith pulled one back for the Grantown Jags.
The result means Forres now have a one-point lead over second-placed Cove Rangers and still have a game in hand.
Deveronvale mounted a second-half comeback to beat Huntly 3-1 at Princess Royal Park. The visitors led at the break through Russell Guild, but a Chris Blackhall double either side of a strike from Mike McKenzie sealed the points for Vale.
Andrew Anderson scored twice in Keith's 4-0 victory at Rothes, with Bruce Raffel and Cammy Keith also on the mark.
The wins for Deveronvale and Keith mean they are now fifth and seventh respectively, with Wick Academy dropping to eighth place.
Clach's home fixture against Nairn County was postponed.
