North of Scotland Cup First Round Round-up - 29th July 2014
Lossiemouth 3 - Fort William 2
Lossiemouth and Fort William kicked off the season with a North of Scotland cup tie and Lossie took the lead in the 7th minute when Darren Bailey tapped home a Shawn Scott pass. Ryan Macleod equalised for Fort in the 29th minute with a low drive from 18 yards. Scott put Lossiemouth back in front in the 40th minute before adding his second late. Mark Rippon grabbed a consolation in stoppage time for Fort.
Elgin City 4 - Strathspey Thistle 1
Craig Gunn scored a hat-trick for Elgin and Shane Sutherland also netted before the Elgin keeper scored an own goal to give Strathspey Thistle a consolation goal late on.
Nairn County 0 - Forres Mechanics 0 - Forres won 4-2 on penalties
Nairn and Forres drew a blank which resulted in the games being settled on penalties, Michael Morrison and Alan Pollock missed for Nairn which resulted in Forres progressing 4-2 on penalties.
Golspie Sutherland 0 - Wick Academy 4
Academy took the lead in the 13th minute away to Golspie when Richard Macadie netted from the penalty spot, two quick goals in the 56th and 57th minute from David Allan and Gary Manson put Wick on easy street before Lukasz Geruzel completed the scoring in the 71st minute.
Clachnacuddin 2 - Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1
In the Inverness derby it was Caley Thistle who took the lead in the 7th minute thanks to a goal from Ryan Baptie. Clach equalised in the 59th minute thanks to a goal from David Watson before Andrew Skinner completed the scoring in the 67th minute to ensure an away tie against Wick for Clach.
Thurso 0 - Brora Rangers 4
Brora began the defence of the cup away to Thurso and opening the scoring in the 41st minute thanks to a Scott Graham goal. Dale Gillespie added a second in the 48th minute before two goals from Colin Williamson in the 75th and 76th minute ensured the holders progressed.
