Visitors Buckie Thistle recorded their first win at Harmsworth Park since April 2011. Both teams were short on personnel for the Wednesday night game under the floodlights. Buckie only has goalkeeper Darren Strong on the bench whilst Academy were without the services of Michael Steven and Davie Allan (both suspended), Grant Steven was out injured and James Pickles was unavailable.
First minute goals at Harmsworth Park has become common-place this season, but this time it was the visitors that drew early blood. Alan Farquhar didn't get enough on his header back to Sean McCarthy which allowed Robert Scott the chance to nick the ball and he converted the opportunity.
0 - 1
Buckie number 9 Chris Angus had a great game for the Jags and the came close to doubling the lead with a flashing shot that went just wide of target.
Sam Mackay showed his class to draw the Scorries level with a great goal on 19 minutes. He picked the ball up on the left before driving into the box and from a tight angle fired a thunder-bolt into the roof of the net.
1 - 1
Seven minutes later however Buckie regained their lead. Scott Adams beat the off-side trap to sprint forward and he kept a cool head to find the net passed McCarthy from 20 yards out.

Half Time - Wick Academy 1 - Buckie Thistle 2
Chris Angus had another attempt the flashed just wide of the target and for Academy James McClean had a well struck volley that flew just over the cross-bar.
It was Buckie however that increased their lead on 65 minutes. A slack clearance by the Academy defence was punished when the ball fell to Robert Scott and he notched home his second goal of the match.
1 - 3
Academy pushed to try to get back into the game in the remaining quarter hour but failed to really threaten the Buckie goal. Indeed it was the visitors that had the best chances to go further ahead through Robert Scott, but McCarthy was twice on hand to deny him his hat trick.
Academy had to finish the last 8 minutes of the game with only 10 men, having made all of their substitutions, when Ross Allan had to be taken off with a hamstring injury.
So a poor night for the Scorries but Buckie deserved their
win and Academy now face a tricky away trip to Keith on Saturday.
