A bright but blustery day at Station Park, and the game has just kicked off.  Craig Shearer is unavailable and David Allan gets the nod ahead of Nigel MacKenzie. Gunn and MacKenzie are on the bench and may have a big part to play if required. Today's game will go a long way in deciding which team will finish "top of the North", so let's hope the lads can bring all 3 points back up the road in what I'm sure will be a very tough game. Ladbrokes have both sides as 118 for a win, so on form this one could be very close.

Academy opened the scoring with 16 minutes played. Weir laid the ball off to Stevie Cunningham and from 18 yards out he side-footed the ball inside Calum Donaldson's right hand post.

0 - 1

In 23 minutes Gregg Main had a 30 yard free kick which was on target but More made a good diving save to push the ball round the post for a corner.

No more scoring in the first half.

Half Time - 0 - 1

With 15 minutes of the second half played it's been all Nairn. They have had a half-dozen good attempts on target, but More has had a good game thus far, coping with everything that has been thrown at him. Academy have however been exposed in this half down their left flank.

Nairn square the scores with 71 minutes played. A free kick is floated out to the left and then swung in to the box. More managed to parry-out Nairn's first attempt, but the ball fell to Martin MacDonald and he hammered home from 6 yards out.

1 - 1

Academy make a double substitution with Martin Gunn and Nigel MacKenzie coming on for David Allan and David Cowie.

It's been all Nairn this half but Academy take the lead against the run of play. The ball is played wide and Macadie picks the ball up on the edge of the Nairn box. He took one touch before turning on a six-pence and fired home. That's his 10th league goal of this campaign, level pegging Weir for his league goal tally.

1 - 2

Full Time 1 - 2

The result sees us break the 40 point barrier for the first ever time, and lt leaves us sitting in 6th place. This is also our 8th straight league win. Next weekends game at home to Lossiemouth looks as if it could be another cracker, so come along and support the boys if you can manage.
