Gary Weir, Craig Shearer and David Allan all found the net for the Scorries today at Allan Park, but Cove went two goals better and ran out 5-3 winners.

With other results not going in Academy's favour it sees us drop down to 15th spot.

On a bright sunny day in cove wick nearly took the lead in the first minute with a free kick from Gary Manson 25 yards out, he curled it round the wall but Cove keeper Stuart Mckenzie got two hands to it to push it away

This seemed to spur Cove into action and in the third minute, a throw in on the left found Murray Mculloch and his cross cum shot beat everything including James More but it hit the post and More caught it before a Vove player could follow up

Coves early pressure paid off after 11 minutes, Calum Watson had a shot parried by James More and the experienced Stevie Tosh was on hand to steer the rebound home

Wick got themselves back into the game with a wonderful move, Davie Allan ran at the Cove defence and squared to Cunningham in front of goal but he unselfishly played in Gary Weir who showed great composure to slot home and bring him closer to Martin Gunn's scoring record.

Wick took the lead on 37 minutes, Gary Manson took a quick throw in up the left to Craig Shearer, he lifted the ball over the keeper towards goal, Cove's Martin Jonhstone tried to get back and stop the ball crossing the line but he could not do this and the Scorries were 2-1 up.

Wicks lead lasted barely two minutes, Tosh crossed in from the right and Shearer coming back to help his defence out but the ball bounced up off him and into the net via post.

With two minutes to go before halftime, Martin Gunn brought down Tosh 25 yards from goal, Tosh stepped up to curl the ball home and give Cove the lead.

Half time Cove 3 - Wick 2

With just over the hour played Cove went close from a corner Martin Johnstone heading just over from 8 yards.

It was all equal again on 65 minutes, Stevie Cunningham played in Davie Allan and he held off Cove's defenders to slot a left foot shot past the keeper.

With both teams chasing a fourth goal to hopefully go on and win the game, it was Cove who got it, Calum Watson and Daniel Park exchanged passes and Watson's  shot was deflected past James More by Alan Farquhar.

The goal action was not over and on 85 minutes Cove added a killer fifth, a long ball over the Wick defence was misjudged by Andrew Macleod and Park capitalised on this by racing away to slot the ball past More.

In stoppage time Wick had one last chance, Gary Weir played a forward pass to Davie Allan on the edge of the Cove box, he let Macadie take over but he dragged his shot just wide
