Richard Hughes and Gordon Connelly took charge of Academy today following the mid-week departure of Barry Wilson to Elgin City. Sam Mackay was suspended for today's game, Davie Allan and Gary Weir were both out injured, but Craig Shearer returned to the starting line-up having missed the last 4 games with an ankle injury which he picked up at Fraserburgh.
In a scrappy game Academy pushed hard in the second half for an opening goal but neither team could find the target. Ross Allan was substituted after only 10 minutes with a suspected broken arm and Grant Steven was sent off in the 4th minute of injury time so not good news ahead of next weekend's home tie against Formartine United.
Within the first 10 minutes Ross Allan was booked for a tackle and was injured in the process. It's suspected that he has a broken arm. He was replaced by Bryan McKiddie.
On 21 minutes Academy came close to the opener but Lossiemouth keeper Errol Watson turned a Stevie Cunningham shot around his post for a corner. Michael Steven headed home from the corner but he was flagged as being off-side.
On the half hour Academy had a half-chance. Geruzel and Macadie linked up and just as Geruzel was going to pull the trigger Chris Ross made a great sliding tackle to nick the ball and it ran back for keeper Errol Watson to claim.
Cunningham fired a shot over the Lossiemouth cross-bar from a short corner before Lossiemouth had a great chance to take the lead. A corner on 35 minutes from the left was fired in and came off the Academy cross-bar. The ball was worked back to Liam Archibald and 15 yards from goal he screwed his shot wide of More's right hand post.

Academy start to apply some pressure as they hunt for the opener. A long ball by Michael Steven found Geruzel and he flicked it out to Macadie on the right wing. He drove forward and crossed the ball back to Geruzel who controlled it but fired over the cross-bar from 8 yards out.
Academy carved open another chance. Michael Steven took a throw-in on the right to Macadie. He played the ball into the feet of Geruzel and from a tight angle Geruzel fired in a right foot shot that Watson gathered at the foot of his right hand post.
Gordie MacNab game on for Shearer after 63 minutes and within a minute MacNab was in on the action as he flicked a pass to Macadie who slid it forward to Geruzel about 16 yards from goal. Geruzel got his attempt on target but Watson was yet again on hand to palm the ball away for a corner.
Academy pile on the pressure and create another chance. Macadie took a corner on the right which Watson came for and punched out to the edge of the box to Grant Steven. Steven scuffed his shot and Alan Farquhar came in at the back post but couldn’t make contact to turn it into the net.
Lossiemouth almost grabbed the opener. Callum Dunbar crossed the ball forward to Jordan McBain who had a free header 7 yards from goal but More pulled out a great save getting both hands to the ball to parry it away.
9 minutes left to play and Academy again have the chance for the opening goal. More fired a goal-kick up-field and it was picked up by Macadie. He combined with Geruzel before Macadie fired a 25 yard shot which looked goal-bound but Watson gloved it around the post.
The chances kept coming for Academy. Michael Steven laid a Macadie corner back to Grant Steven at the back post. He tried to curl his shot into the net and it whistled just wide of target.
Into injury time and Manson took a throw-in to Farquhar. He teed up Grant Steven who hit a scorcher from 30 yards out that went just over the top of the cross-bar.
In the 4th minute of stoppage time Grant Steven slid into a tackle and caught his man on the shin and referee Morag Pirie sent him off and Academy finished the game with 10 men.
